WORK AT HOME: CREATE YOUR OWN WEBSITE

Instead of signing up for survey sites, data entry jobs, etc., Why not create your own website and be your own boss?? "Yeah right", you say, "How do I make money from that?"
Having a website is very similar to leasing a property in a commercial area, it's just that you're renting a virtual space and not a physical one. The best advantage? The rent is cheaper, the market is infinite, and you can sell whatever you want, from services, to products (both new and used), and what more? you can earn through advertisers. So It doesn't matter if you do have a product to sell or not, as long as you generate traffic to your site, you will never go zero.
So how do you go about putting up a website? Most people get scared by just having the thought of setting up a web page, much less a website. But no worries, as long as you know how to browse the internet, and use a computer, you're all set. The fact that you are reading my blog means that you are knowledgeable enough about computers.
First off- choose a domain name that's easy to remember and one that reflects what's in your website. You don't want people guessing what "ka-chakahan.com" has to offer. If you're domain name is one that is not easily understood or recognized, chances are, no one would be interested enough to take a look at it and see what it has to offer. Think of a name that will go on and live forever. Did you know that you can also profit by selling your domain name? Because in the future, the time might come that there would be no more domain names left and people would have to pay more to get one.
So where and how do you register a domain name? There are a lot of domain registrars available, there’s, godaddy.com The fee would be around $11.00 a year for a .com domain, .net is a little cheaper, however, I would suggest getting a .com because it’s more recognizable.
After you register your name, the next step is to set-up hosting. What is hosting, it is that virtual space where you put your virtual store. It’s like finding a property for the store that you want to set up. There are a lot of web hosts available, fatcow.com for one hosts for as low as 3.67/month.
So instead of going around the internet to find for lucrative work-at-home opportunities, why not just set up your site, and have your own business, who knows, you might be able to make it big time!

Data entry jobs scams or legit?

There have been a lot of data entry sites that's popping out of your inbox, facebook pages, twitter account, etc., and all of them promises an extra income of around $2000 plus monthly. Now who wouldn't want that extra income? and who wouldn't want to work at the convenience of one's home. Most of us would want to work and earn, yet at the same time spend quality time with our kids, friends and loved ones. More often than not, if we see ads that offer work at home opportunities, we click on that site right away, hoping that that website would just give you the opportunity of a lifetime. But guess what, most of these sites are just scams, trying to make money through advertisers and visitors.

So how do we know if a site is legit or not??

As much as I want to name sites that I think are scams, I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to do that. I might just get sued for defamation or for whatever lawsuit they might think of. But here are some tips to consider in finding sites that are legit.

1. Earn through referrals. If the site tells you to refer friends for a small amount of incentive, most likely, it's not a legit data entry site. This site will tell you that you will earn this much if you refer this "number" of people. Well this only means that the site is making money through the number of members or visitors they get, and not through legitimate companies that outsource the services of a typist or data encoder.

2. Asks you to buy a software. Well there may be sites out there that would ask you to buy a software for a complete list of companies that outsource data encoders. But most of the time, this kind of site earns money through software selling. I know some people who actually bought the software and said that there are companies listed that are actually non-existent.

3. Membership fees. If the site is legitimate, they don't have to ask for a membership fee, that is because the employers, or companies who find outsourced services for data entry pays them a fee for finding data encoders for them. In addition, if you work for legit sites like Odesk.com, you will find that they get their income through a commission based on your salary. For example, if you have an hourly rate of $10.00 per hour, they will charge your employer $11.00. They take the $1.00 you get $10.00/hour in full. They charge the 10% commission to your employer and not to your earnings.

Well Odesk did not pay me to blog about their site so I wont mention them anymore, this is just my way of paying homage to them for being the reason why I have an online job for almost two years now, this is my way of saying thank you.

It's not easy to find an online job, you may be able to sign up with a legitimate site like I did, but still, it's hard, you still have to apply for the job, make a resume, and a cover letter that will stand out. Don't forget, you're applying online, the competition is global. Especially in data entry. You will find that there will be at least fifty to a hundred applicants for a single job opening. It's a jungle. So, good luck!

Work at home

I've been desperately seeking for ways on how to make money online.. I'm currently working as a freelance consultant, researcher, encoder and I've made some money, although I can't say that I'm making so much. There are a lot of sites that offer work at home opportunities, data entry jobs, paid surveys, paid blogging, etc. And I've tried most of that, including article rating. There sure are a lot of ways to make legitimate money online, however, there are also a lot of sites that are just scam. They're the only ones making money - Out of you!

Like me, there are a lot of people out there who are desperately trying to make money by just sitting at home while taking care of the kids. And finding a legitimate site is not easy. Since I have time in my hands, I'm going to make it my goal to find legitimate money-making sites. And post it here.. For everyone's convenience.

So watch out.. You might dig into a gold mine...
